Breath-taking! Such a lovely and cozy, comfortable room!

SupprimerI woke early this morning and was rewarded by seeing your completed room......I really think I am lost for words!!! I love EVERY THING about this room.....total perfection!!!. I love that you can sit and look at each photo and all the lovely details that you have for us to discover. In my mind the colours are perfect, the furnishing sublime and the pieces of furniture that you have made and painted simply "blow my mind". STUNNING!!!!!!!! Linda xxx
RépondreSupprimeryou get up and I yawned while reading your comment .... I do not yawn by bored but what I want to sleep! .... With all those kind words, I'll have sweet dreams!
SupprimerI LOVE everything about this room. It is balanced in the use of color, furniture and all the special small items you have chosen for it. It is a room I want very badly to sit in. :-) You were smart to let time resolve your choices because everything is in harmony. It is one of my favorite miniature rooms of all time. :-))
RépondreSupprimerCatherine thank you very much for this great compliment .... I need a challenge .... notes should future parts make you want to sit you comfortably and not move. it will be hard as chalenge!
SupprimerUn saloncito encantador.
SupprimerSoberbo, Catherine! Uma verdadeira obra de arte. O colorido é perfeito!
RépondreSupprimerMerci beaucoup Eliana
SupprimerOh wow. I just love this room. I think I should take a lesson from you to not rush to finish things and to never be satisfied until you have achieved what you want. You have so many beautiful items in this room that all just really work well together and I love that you added the extra shelves. I also love the couch with the mix of cushions on it. Fabulous.
RépondreSupprimerthank you, I do not have much time to work on my projects. suddenly, my work is spread over time. I noticed that it was an advantage rather than a disadvantage for me. during the time when I can not work, I Reflected in my project. it allows me to better understand what I want and not change things that I like. it became a habit to work for me.
SupprimerWell worth the time. I do love the room, beautiful :) The furniture works so well----

RépondreSupprimerI hope the translator translates it all well......
I enjoyed seeing all the changes you have done in this room the last time and I really love this way of working, I do the same: I take my time, no hurry.
Lots of details in your room are chosen by their shape, color and meaning, that is a lovely way of working, my sincere compliments!
Bonne journée! Amicalement, Ilona
I started buying small items in the miniature shows there 15 years. I started by buying a small vase and two ..... you know the rest. I buy what I can not do myself, pottery, glassware. I always bought dreaming that one day I will this mouse house. Today I am happy to pull out drawers small items purchased. I have the chance to buy occasionally beautiful objects such as lamps or small table., but do yourself a maximum of things gives the room more homogeneity. and then the real fun for me is to work with my hands and see happen gradually the house of my dreams. there ... I still dream of going to the salon in London to find a small open book with pretty pages. mine are all wrong, I can not open them. I would like to find two teaspoons tea ..... "little by little, the bird builds its nest" is a French expression. I wish you a good week llona
SupprimerThank you for your lovely comment and for answering here, Catherine!
SupprimerAs I said it before: you are a bit like me..... Many years ago I have bought a few very beautiful miniatures, just like you and I cherished them like precious treasures. A few years since I am back in the miniature world, lots of things are changed. Nowadays I try to make the most things with my own hands and my self found techniques. Unfortunately I can't make miniatures like glass and pottery and I can't afford myself very expensive miniatures, but I love inventing how to do techniques. Especially for trying to build miniatures of things, which I have on hand, that gives for me the most satisfaction :D!
I am not in a hurry, but I really love to work at miniatures and if I can I'll take my time for it. How lovely that we nearly have the same way of working, thank you for telling me.
Bonne soirée! Amicalement, Ilona
bel ensemble

SupprimerOh, it is SO Lovely! Every little detail is Perfect!!! You are amazing in your persistence to get the look just right! I admire your work very much! And I LOVE the colors! I think rich colors are good for the soul... not so much white and pale colors that make you afraid to touch.... but deep Warm Inviting Rich Beautiful colors! You have achieved a Wonderful balance and all the little accessories are just divine! I would LOVE to sit in this room for Hours and hours with a crackling fire a good book and a friend for tea! Even the rain and snow outside don't matter any more! Perfect!
RépondreSupprimerYes I too would like to settle down in this room. I think I'd have a room like this one in real life. my family would drive cries! everything is too old. haha! in real life, I'm like everyone else, my house does not look like the house of my dreams. I can not decided as in miniature of every thing and every seat or place objects. this is real life ... what is sometimes damage but fortunately there is the miniature :)))
It is quite Fantastic that when I look at the "Before" photo with the grandfather clock in the corner, and then compare it to the "After" photo with the new wrap-around book shelf, I can see how effective the changes were, only by a comparison. I love the bold combinations of your fabric colors but the pink chair took All of the attention when it was in the room and everything else took a back seat. By having the 2 matching chairs facing each other, the space has taken on a visual balance that it lacked before. Suddenly everything is Equally interesting and the eye moves easily from place to place all around the room. What Skill to be able to bring this about! And how Brave to dismantle a "completed" room in order to realize your vision. The finished space is totally Original and Totally Livable, and I LOVE IT!!!
RépondreSupprimerBRAVA! :D

Elizabeth thank you also understand my work. it touches me deeply. I'm looking for something very subtle and difficult to define. I want that gives the air "real" "real" but this can not be the reproduction of a home because it is a house mouse. I try to make different furniture in form and color. chairs seem real but they have a record over backwards for mice. there are only purchased the table is a copy of actual table. it has a defect, haha, if you look closely .... the silver parts are human busts ... I need to change that ... one day: D I have made significant progress in making this room. I understood that to detach faillait things and objects that we liked to get a good result. Before starting this room I had two pieces of furniture, dresser Natacha and the old clock which is my first painted furniture (I was very proud of the result) I dreamed a long time for this piece I would do to put these two furniture . The solution came when I realized that I had to separate myself from the old clock. it is a difficult decision because it is she who determined the choice of colors for this piece. it was the same for the little pink chair. it represents a year of work and research to do. this is the prettiest chairs, best succeeded .... and hop off ...: D I've made progress because I am able to not be in the emotion and attachment to things. this is the story I tell is important and I do not have to tell it only for me but for others .... it must be fair and understandable. ho that long discourses .... I embrace you and thank you again. place an exellent week.
SupprimerOM.Gosh. words can not express how I feel about this room..your eyes are drawn to all the details that make it look lived in from the arms of the sofa to the shabby pillows ..I think you were right to remove the pink chair. I love this room

thank you very much for pointing out that my pillows are not beautiful, they are old and flabby .... haha! one of my best friends was trying to tell me when she saw me embroider ... why so much time passes you Embroidery cushions as ugly? haha ... the other told me, with the little pink is beautiful. nobody would ask me why I embroder cushions as any for my couch. there are so many beautiful models to embroider. I read an article about a Parisian designer someday. He said that what the decoration is the lack of taste! it's an amazing sentence for a decorator but he's right. bad taste illuminates everything else, it surprises. it gives life to an interior too perfect and provides more information about its owner than any other object. I love this idea.

RépondreSupprimerIt is a great achievement and worth the effort, so vibrant and colourful but everything works beautifully together, no wonder you are pleased with it.
