Louise

Elle me l'a dit.

Je me suis attachée à toi .

Oh, thank you for showing step by step construction of your beautiful chair: this has strengthened the awareness of all my limitations, but it was nice to see your skills at work :-)

    1. can not help when a portrait is painted to imagine the character's personality that emerges little by little. I must say that we spend a lot of time with him. this is a head to head sometimes difficult. it does not always happen to feel something. Sometimes I digress, I pers ... then I start up that has the character and I got to understand. it's hard to see them go. it's not as if I reproduisais pictures of existing people, I would have no trade, I would have to stick to an image.

  6. Bonsoir Catherine! I think I understand what you mean with your feeling when you are painting the portrait of this young woman. You are thinking who the person is who you are painting at that moment. You crawl into their personality and you think of how they would have been in their lives. If you can understand this you can paint her and then you give her a name: I agree that Louise is the most suitable name for her.
Her portrait is a real work of art, it is so beautiful and integer.
    Bonne soirée. Amicalement, Ilona

    1. yes, I am very attached to it. I wish to be like him. she looks so sweet, no worries ... it's life before her. I'm a little scared for her ... she has no idea of what to expect. I often think of this when I visit places or ily has old portraits. I wonder what they have experienced.

  11. Hello Catherine,

What a beautiful portrait, you have captured the sweetness perfectly and I know how hard it is to have the idea of a person in your mind and translate it perfectly to the canvas. It is always interesting to think about the life of the person in a portrait, so much story behind a face. At the moment I am painting a miniature portrait so I understand it is not an easy task, you have done so well.

    Louise is beautiful.

  12. Hello Catherine! I see a young woman who has strength and contentment in her eyes. But not only that, she is also kind, caring and direct but loving with a deep inner conviction of purpose that will not be easily swayed. I see that when you paint it is much like myself. I make up a story about who does what and how and then I build around it. The way that you describe Louise, is as though she is revealing herself with each brush stroke that you apply not only to the canvas but also into your heart. As to the technique, I applaud the effect of the collar around her neck. It is light and transparent and
as delicate as the color in her cheeks but supported by the strength of the solid dark blue. And like her dark hair that frames her fair face, the contrasts of light and dark are in keeping with her character, soft and feminine with a Will still of her own, reflected in the set of her lips. A Beautiful Piece of Art!
